Continuing on the theme of light I’ve never been sure about curtains. I think it’s because I’ve always been opposed to their function; to shut out the light. My favourite bedroom in the houses/flats I lived in when I first moved to London was one with a sky-light above my bed. I never used the blind on it and I slept better than I ever have, waking up with the rise of the sun and a smile on my face.
